KKK should be considered an illegal terrorist organization in the US. They can say whatever they want but if ISIS claimed to no longer carry out the same attacks against people but still held the same foundational beliefs we'd still would consider ISIS a terrorist organization due to their beliefs and their history. KKK should be treated the same.

KKK is treated as a subversive terrorist organization. They can’t be gone after to harshly due to laws protecting the right to gather. Unlike ISIS they aren’t in open conflict nor are they doing terrorist attacks against the population

Not today they aren't as flagrant but in recent history they have carried out terrorist attacks against the same minority groups they hate on institutional level still today. Only thing stopping them from continuing their tradition of terrorism is a lack of widespread support but don't be fooled, they still terrorize where they can get away with it. If they were disgusted by terrorism they would have taken on a new name and new traditions. They are proud of the group's bloody history.

Yes they do have a history of terrorism. But the federal government can’t go after people for something they could’ve done. They more likely to go after the proud boys or Antifa more than anything. Hell considering what the BLM protest has done I wouldn’t be surprised if there after them too

Those were probably lone wolf attacks. For a group to be considered a terrorist organization by the government, there needs to be a coordination by the members to commit terrorist attacks (like with organized crime). Today, there are groups who almost fill that criteria, like the Proud Boys, the Oath Keepers and the Three Percenters.
