Instagram is deleting my posts about the protests, there are reports from many sources saying the same for their accounts. Shame on Meta. Reddit is one of the few places where we can still freely be the voice of Iranian people, please don't let them be forgotten or silenced.

64

u/blub_blub_ImFish Sep 25 '22

Instagram will flag post similar to another as spam, so I advise you to write something in addition to the copypasted hashtag too

13

u/dartie Sep 26 '22

ZuckerFuck only cares about money. I’m sure that he justifies it in his little rodent mind.

-7

u/random198843 Sep 25 '22

They are private companies. Remember how all that went? I guess we care when shit is censored now?

13

u/RadicalCate Sep 26 '22

You know there's a difference between social media platforms having terms of service, and actively silencing news of a massive protest, right?

-11

u/random198843 Sep 26 '22

100% aware Cate

-2

u/[deleted] Sep 25 '22

You know these pictures can be used to incriminate people. Would you want to say your website was responsible for someone being executed?

26

u/montjab Sep 25 '22

Hope the dictator will fall and bring down with him his friend Assad

6

u/slipperyShoesss Sep 26 '22

Yeah I dont like Zuckerburg either

1

u/bundycamp Sep 27 '22

You are living in the past

25

u/Apart-Run5933 Sep 25 '22

The news coverage is shamefully lacking. BBC has had like 1 generic article a day. CNN is a Murdoch cuck now so I won’t go there. I’m getting more info from Reddit than any news source I can find.

-10

u/ohdin1502 Sep 25 '22

If it appears in western news too much, y'all will complain the US is getting involved again. How about getting the other Muslim countries involved and looking at them? It would be small minded to think more media coverage will be better when doing so would only foment more hatred towards the US. Worry about Iran and less about the US.

4

u/Apart-Run5933 Sep 25 '22

What kind of moronic last line is that? Concerned about the US? Where did I ever say anything about that? I just want to know what’s happening ffs.

2

u/confused-immigrant Sep 26 '22

Getting media attention is different than having u.s. meddle in politics, hell the reason why the Islamic regime is in power is because USA and England tried to meddle in disrupting and assassination of a democratic leader which just like all other stupid meddling created a power vacuum for a far right extremist group to take control. Also Arab nations are considered as Muslim nations, however Iran is a occupied nation by an Islamic terrorist organization similar how Taliban has taken control of Afghanistan. Arab nations don't and won't cover it for a lot of reasons. 1. Showing the overthrow of a Islamic based government is not good for them specially since Islam originated from there (Saudi Arabia). 2. Since Iran is not an Arab nations they are not considered as an ally. 3. Media coverage does not generate hate but respect that it is providing visibility of an actual situation.

So much wrong with your statement it sounds like you're clearly unaware of many things. Hope this short overview clears it a bit for you.

u/jblaze805 Sep 25 '22

Power to the people, stay safe out there

61

u/thebusiness7 Sep 25 '22

Looks like Instagram is deleting people’s posts on the event. Has Meta given an official statement justifying why they’re doing this?

25

u/w1987g Sep 25 '22

Not until the fire has been snuffed out and it won't affect their stock

18

u/netburnr2 Sep 25 '22

Its gone from 350 down to 142 yesterday, their stock is already trash.

9

u/elriggo44 Sep 25 '22

Sure seems to me that Meta, as a company, was built to make sure information only flows if the ruling class wants it to flow. The exact opposite of the Internet before Meta

80

u/ArmadilloDays Sep 25 '22

The Iranians certainly don’t need my American approval, but as a woman and a human, I am totally cheering them on.

6

u/Mondogomery Sep 25 '22

Please be the voice of Iranians in any community you are involved ... thanks for your support #Mahsa_amini

Solidarity with you brothers and sisters 💥

2

u/Recent-Bullfrog-9616 Sep 26 '22

Do people go home and sleep and then take up rioting the next morning? Never understood the logistics of these things

8

u/IDK_WHAT_YOU_WANT Sep 25 '22

You've done your sentence but committed no crime.

12

u/mortender Sep 25 '22 edited Sep 25 '22

I don't want to piss on anyone's parade and I really really hope you get the changes you need.

But what is winning here, is it a more lax stance on hijabb, a more gentle morality police or a change of regime? Because the only change I can see coming is that it is going to be more dangerous and harder to protest and a lot of dead people.

But I really hope whatever the outcome it is a good one, though I have seen these kinds of protests being brutally put down and then everything gets worse.

13

u/annothejedi Sep 25 '22

In my opinion, The ultimate win should be a secular society with human rights for all. But we will see..

I really hope all goes well!

18

u/BryanMcgee Sep 25 '22

Because the only change I can see coming is that it is going to be more dangerous and harder to protest and a lot of dead people.

Welp, might as well let them just kill indiscriminately then. Take note, everyone. If you don't have a fully thought out plan, don't bother protesting when police kill. Just let it go.

3

u/[deleted] Sep 25 '22

I don't see how talking about expectations and outcomes is a decision to give up in your eyes. That just seems like toxic positivity on your part.

1

u/ohdin1502 Sep 25 '22

Who's going to stop them? You?

4

u/TheBman26 Sep 25 '22

It’s the fact the world needs to stop extreme religion everywhere. Think america is safe? Think again. Etc

2

u/mortender Sep 25 '22

You are kicking in open doors here mate and I am not based in the US

1

u/TheBman26 Sep 26 '22

Mainly saying even the west could be like this in a couple years. Hoping there’s more freedom for the woman of iran it’s horrible.

5

u/Eattherightwing Sep 25 '22

"I don't want to piss on anyone's parade"

pisses on parade

When people say things like "I don't want to be a jerk, but," they are telling you exactly what their motive is. Learn this, and you will avoid a lot of toxicity in life.

2

u/mortender Sep 25 '22

pisses on parade

Well I don’t do I? I am just saying that after a while it might be a good thing to think about what winning is exactly and go for it.

1

u/ohdin1502 Sep 25 '22

Don't mind them, professional bush beaters.

For a post that means well, some of the comments in here are pretty disgusting

21

u/silly-americans Sep 25 '22

Fuck religion

5

u/[deleted] Sep 25 '22

[deleted]

-9

u/callisstaa Sep 25 '22

So you would persecute people for being religious rather than non religious?

Also the reason that Iran ended up this way is because of capitalism.

Fuck intolerance.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 25 '22

People believe in astrology. It's perfectly fine to say astrology is bullshit and government policy shouldn't be based on whether Mercury is in retrograde. That isn't the same thing as locking up astrologers.

Same thing here. Religion is toxic garbage. You can believe in it if you want but nobody should support your beliefs and you shouldn't have any input on the lives of others if it is informing your decision making.

2

u/callisstaa Sep 25 '22

The thing is nobody has every been persecuted for their astrological beliefs. When you look at Hitler wanting to eradicate all Jews and China with Uyghur muslims it is a bit different.

Mindless hate and intolerance is never good. There are plenty of nice religious people in the world but it is the hate and intolerance of the Iranian leaders that led to this girl being killed.

'Fuck everyone who is different to me' is an awful mentality.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 25 '22

So are you suggesting we start now? Because nobody else is and criticizing bad religious beliefs certainly doesn't entail it.

9

u/annothejedi Sep 25 '22

They don't need a made up god to protect them. Religion is fiction, allah is not real.

That makes all of this even more devastating: real people get hurt because of man made fiction stories out of an old book full of lies..

-5

u/SomeCensoredGuy Sep 25 '22 edited Sep 25 '22

You do understand that these people are manipulating religion and lying about it right? Edit: i think he deleted that. Redditors always gonna downvote for no reason

5

u/annothejedi Sep 25 '22

You do understand that there is no god and all religions are fiction?

-9

u/SomeCensoredGuy Sep 25 '22 edited Sep 25 '22

What you said isn't a universal fact. Edit: where did we even get that from. Are we going to argue about God now? I thought this was about Islam and women's rights.

1

u/annothejedi Sep 25 '22

My friend, I understand that this is a very personal journey. I truly wish you all the best on yours. Don't blindly believe, keep asking questions and be safe!

-1

u/SomeCensoredGuy Sep 25 '22

Yeah i get that. I just meant for you not to criticize Islam when it did not cause that here

1

u/annothejedi Sep 25 '22

Well, just to be clear: I very much blame Islam!

Maybe one day you can see how foolish it is to base 21st century decisions and laws on a thousand year old fictional book written by men. Religion poisons everything, not just Islam but all of them!

Take care of yourself and try to keep an open mind! You deserve better than being lied to.

0

u/SomeCensoredGuy Sep 25 '22

Because Islam would be against forcing Hijabs on women...?

Maybe one day you can see how foolish it is to base 21st century decisions and laws on a thousand year old fictional book written by men.

It would be. It's why we believe the Quran is sent by God.

I find other than a God no possible explanation for the universe.

0

u/[deleted] Sep 25 '22

They really aren't. These religious texts were written by people who didn't hold modern progressive views. So they naturally express backwards views on basic things like who can be kept as property, who is allowed to have voice, who is allowed to get married, etc.

-1

u/SomeCensoredGuy Sep 25 '22

Those religious texts also tell you a Hijab isn't forced and to treat women equally (even at a time when women were being treated like animals)

0

u/[deleted] Sep 25 '22 edited Sep 25 '22

No it doesn't. Ironically you are now the one manipulating the text. Those religious texts do say that women need to be covered and whether or not women need to specifically wear a hijab is based on some interpretations of it. But it absolutely never says specifically that the hijab is optional. Those texts also say that it's righteous to kill infidels, by the way. And those kinds of things are not remotely up for interpretation.

1

u/SomeCensoredGuy Sep 25 '22

Those religious texts do say that women need to be covered.

Where does it say that? In Islam wearing a Hijab is mandatory. It's also the women's choice whether she wants to follow that and you can only ignore or politely advise her if you know her. Therefore forcing women to wear a Hijab because of Islam is manipulating Islam.

Those texts also say that it's righteous to kill infidels.

One place where it says that, where it refers to a specific battle. It also emphasizes in the whole book that all humans are the same, non Arabs aren't better or worse than Arabs or blacks with whites. Those same 1400 years ago. Edit: yeah i have bothered reading it.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 25 '22

You should actually bother reading the Quran. You're extremely ignorant of the actual text.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 25 '22

What is he waiting for?

Nobody is a winner in these type of scenarios

-19

u/Imlooloo Sep 25 '22

Didn’t the people (men and women) of Iran vote this regime and way of life in back in 1979 by like 98% yes vote by the people?

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/March_1979_Iranian_Islamic_Republic_referendum

3

u/SomeCensoredGuy Sep 25 '22

Maybe because they knew Islam doesn't tell you to force others to wear a Hijab?

-4

u/smar888 Sep 25 '22

Counting down number of days to the next coup d'état…

-35

u/Setagaya-Observer Sep 25 '22

All Men's, no Woman in sight!

11

u/Timbershoe Sep 25 '22

I can see women to either side of the road.

But what’s your point?

-41

u/Setagaya-Observer Sep 25 '22

The point is that this Protest is not about Womens Rights to avoid the Hijab, this Protest is about social Issues, this problem was and is created by the USA and their Sanctions, Reddit is a manipulative Tool in this Machinery!

In the Iran every single Day Children die because of this Sanctions, every Day Woman get killed because of this Sanctions and every single Day even Men die because of this Sanctions!

The Police killed hundred People, the Sanctions killed hundreds of Thousands in the last year's!

Face Reality and fight the USA!

15

u/Timbershoe Sep 25 '22

Hey, if you think western sanctions are to blame, maybe take that up with Iranian government for sponsoring terrorism in Syria, Israel and elsewhere. Less killings=fewer sanctions. Simples.

It’s not the fucking Middle Ages, holy wars went out of fashion in the 1400’s.

And you clearly have zero idea what is happening, or ever happens, in Iran.

-22

u/Setagaya-Observer Sep 25 '22

And you have no clue about politics!

12

u/Timbershoe Sep 25 '22

Okay, dude, whatever.

Take the tinfoil hat somewhere else.

-8

How long before the Revolutionary Guard is called out? Seems this would be in their wheelhouse.

-35

u/SomeOneYouveMet Sep 25 '22

Quoting a band with a gay lead singer in Iran might be pushing it. Focus on one battle at a time.

1

u/JustALilOlive73 Sep 25 '22

Do you realise that we can work on different battles at once? And why the fuck do you care about the title

1

u/Bo0sey_M0osey Sep 26 '22

Because it's trashy

1

u/Bo0sey_M0osey Sep 26 '22

The title that is

-39

u/oldrestless Sep 25 '22

World is forgetting about Ukraine, coo

5

u/JustALilOlive73 Sep 25 '22

Focussing on one issue will result in the death of us all. We have to focus on many, plus no one has forgotten about Ukraine

-6

u/oldrestless Sep 25 '22

People tend to focus on whoever the news is covering. Nobody seems to care about Yemen

1

u/ProngExo Sep 25 '22

What news do you watch? Most news networks report on many things, not just one.

-16

u/Little_Caregiver_633 Sep 25 '22

This kinda a protest never happen in middle east.

-4

u/rasthomas01 Sep 25 '22

Counterrevolutionaires! Rock on.

-4

u/Axiom06 Sep 25 '22

Keep on protesting !

-2

u/StillWill18 Sep 25 '22

Iranian morality police beat less women every year, than American police in liberal cities. This is a fake news ploy.

3

u/VonRansak Sep 25 '22

2 month account, uses 'fake news' in rebuttal. Where have I seen you before?... LOL

1

u/StillWill18 Sep 26 '22

According to official US government statistics—you are more likely to beaten or killed by the police in America than in Iran. That is a fact. Not fake news. I mean there’s 3 police involved killings every single day in America. And even more beatings.

I literally get videos all the time in my feed.

The news doesn’t report it that way. You only believe the lies they want you to believe. That’s too bad.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/graphics/investigations/police-shootings-database/

Here’s an article - divide the total by 365.

Then tell me fake news.

1

u/VonRansak Sep 26 '22

I literally get videos all the time in my feed.

Literally?

0

u/StillWill18 Sep 26 '22

Literally.

All. The. Time.

I also see them on the news. All. The. Time.

You must be living in another country.

America is the only country where the police kill 3-4 people a day. And beat another 10x that. Every day.

No other country In the world has this problem.

Not Iran. Not Afghanistan. Not North Korea. According to US official numbers.

You have been taken by the fake news.

You don’t think they are watching all the American police beatings and killings on TV in Iran?

They do. Probably more than you do.

You don’t think that it might be why they want to kill us all?

1

u/VonRansak Sep 26 '22

They want to kill us all? Literally?

-1

u/good_man_bad Sep 25 '22

این بده 😑

0

u/Past_Heron6405 Sep 25 '22

It actually feels like this time it’s going to work. The ayatollah regime was always rooted in evil.
